In partnership with Education Development Trust, The Chartered College of Teaching is pleased to offer an advanced accreditation for School-Led Tutors and Academic Mentors delivering educational tutoring to individual students or small groups.
The Award in Professional Knowledge for Tutoring is open to any individual who has completed the National Tutoring Programme Training Course for School-Led Tutors or National Tutoring Programme Training Course for Academic Mentors with Education Development Trust since 2021.
In undertaking two tutoring-focused examinations, individuals will have the opportunity to be recognised for the strong professional knowledge of teaching and learning they have gained through the training course, within the context of their tutoring activity. For tutors who hold QTS, successful completion of the accreditation also provides credits towards Chartered Teacher Status.
• Gain formal accreditation for the training you have completed as part of the National Tutoring Programme Training Course for School-Led Tutors or Academic Mentors
• Demonstrate your strong professional knowledge around tutoring in two professional knowledge examinations
• Show that you can connect research to practice as you interpret how evidence-informed approaches can support effective tutoring in your context.
