The EdTech Evidence Board (EEB) is taking an evidence-based approach to evaluating the effectiveness and impact of EdTech products. The board is reviewing evidence submitted by EdTech suppliers using a defined set of criteria. These criteria have been informed by research evidence and developed in consultation with subject matter experts, suppliers, schools and colleges.
We believe that the EEB will have a positive impact on the sector by driving critical thinking among schools and EdTech providers about the impact and measurement of EdTech products, helping education settings feel confident that they are choosing products that work well for them and for their classrooms.
Throughout the project we are working with teachers, school and college leaders, EdTech providers and others within education and EdTech sectors to inform our approach to the Evidence Board process. This collaborative approach aims to ensure that the EEB will be relevant and helpful to all, and that gathering evidence of impact can ultimately be incorporated into product development and testing across the EdTech sector.
We are currently running a pilot of the EdTech Evidence Board with a selection of EdTech companies submitting evidence to the board for review. We will be updating on the results of the pilot shortly.
There will be a range of opportunities to be involved in the project, whether you are an educator, expert in the field, researcher or part of an EdTech company, including being involved in research activity and being part of the pilot itself.
Are you an EdTech company who would like to be involved in future submissions to the EdTech Evidence Board?
Are you a policymaker, teacher or researcher? To be kept up to date on opportunities to be involved with the project, please complete the form using the button below.
We have created a suite of resources that aim to help educators and EdTech organisations with evidence of impact.
The EdTech Evidence Board Evaluation Criteria are an evidence-based criteria to evaluate the efficacy of EdTech products for teaching and learning. It is these criteria that are currently being tested as part of the pilot; and which will ultimately define the standard that will be required for EdTech products to be recognised by the EdTech Evidence Board in a future evaluation model.
