Be recognised for your leadership expertise

Chartered Teacher (Leadership) Status is a professional accreditation that celebrates the knowledge and expertise of highly accomplished practising school leaders. The accreditation provides formal recognition to executive headteachers, headteachers, deputy headteachers, assistant headteachers, directors, and heads of school, who have either whole-school or cross-school responsibility and have attained an advanced standard of practice.

Chartered Teacher (Leadership) status recognises evidence-informed, high-quality leadership practice, benefiting schools children and young people. The pathway supports leaders to explore research, reflect on their practice and shape the future of their profession as thought-leaders in the education sector.

Gain certification for each step of your journey

Each Chartered Teacher (Leadership) Status unit is individually certified by the Chartered College of Teaching and can be accessed through our online platform. This allows you to work towards Chartered Teacher (Leadership) Status at a pace that best suits you.

The units can be completed in any order; however, we recommend that you begin with the Certificate in Evidence-Informed Practice, which provides a foundation for further units in each Chartered Status pathway. Click on the icons below to access further information about the individual units.

If you have recently undertaken training or gained a qualification with another organisation, you may be able to use this as credits towards one or more Chartered Status unit. Find out more here.
