How we support our members
We support teachers to deliver excellent teaching through access to research. We also support teachers to constantly develop their expertise and knowledge of effective practice. Membership is voluntary and offers a pathway of professional development to support teachers in their careers.
Covering all phases of education and subject specialisms, teachers have access to a wealth of research, resources and insight to enable excellent teaching. From termly issues of our award-winning journal, Impact, and Chartered Status, to exclusive events and roundtables connecting teachers to collaborate, members have access to the tools to constantly develop their skills and teaching expertise. By bringing the profession together and giving teachers a platform for their voices to be heard and their expertise to be respected, we can raise the status of teaching together.
How we influence education policy
We are an organisation that works in partnership with associations, unions and learned societies to build on the best of practical pedagogy and leadership, combining this with existing and emerging research evidence. The Chartered College stands above party politics, speaking with authority based on evidence about professional issues related to inclusive teaching, curriculum and assessment. We shall represent the expertise of our members whilst always keeping the interest of, children, young people and adult learners at its heart. This includes all political parties and elected representatives.
